NMF’s Safety Record Solid and Constantly Improving
Since 2000, NMF’s DART (day away, restricted, or transferred) Rate, which OSHA itself considers a key measure, has trended steadily downward.
NMF’s workers’ compensation modification factor has gone below 1.00 to 0.94, meaning our accidents are less severe than the typical company in our business.
In 2006, the number of recordable accidents was down over 45% from the previous year, as NMF focused on internal safety statistics that lead to practical measures to get rid of many minor accidents.

"Our goal is zero accidents, and I don’t accept that is impossible in our business," said Mark Lightfoot, NMF’s president. "We strive to engineer safety into our processes and products every day. And our employees recognize that and are happy to join in the effort."
